The trials and tribulations of raising three girls, two years apart, who are all totally different in every way! I will begin my story with my first daughter's conception and continue my story until they are grown and have children of their own.

Daughter #2
The scheduled C-section went smoothly. I went in early in the morning and beings Paul had all of the issues with the first baby being born, my brother went into the operating room with me. I needed someone more dependable and someone less "scared"! (My brother is gay by the way!) He said he had never experienced such a thing and never desired to do it again. They used a laser to open me up this time rather than a "knife". They burned my skin in the same spot as where they cut me for Allison's C-section. My brother said the smell of the burning skin was the worse thing he had ever smelled! When they cut through the uterus, my water spewed out and hit my brother in the face! I laugh about that now but he didnt find it funny in any way! Daughter #2 weighed 6 lbs and 5 oz and was strong and healthy. Unlike Allison, Lindsey had a head full of hair. The only "bad" thing about this post-op hospital stay was that I had a bad cold! I tend to get one around this time every year when the weather changes from Summer to Fall. I was coughing and hacking up crap and believe me, you can NOT cough after having a C-section! I had to hold a pillow to my belly and cough lightly. Well, coughing lightly doesnt help get anything up out of your chest when you're congested! It was not a good experience at all. Later that evening, Paul brought Allison up to the hospital to meet her baby sister. This was the first time Paul had ever had to watch Allison on his own. When they walked in, I could tell they had a rough day! Paul looked like he was about to pull his hair out and Allison looked like her hair hadn't been brushed in a month! She was wearing orange shorts and a purple shirt, yellow socks, pink tennis shoes and her shoes were untied! What the hell? Can't a man watch a child for 48 hours while mom goes in to birth another child? Nevertheless, he did ok! Allison was still alive and had no broken bones when I arrived home the 2nd day! Do you know how hard it is to pick up things from the floor when you've had a C-section? Bending over is NOT an option! So, I learned to pick up things with my toes. Grab a sock between the big toe and second toe, kick it into the air and catch it! I did this for a couple of hours after arriving home to the tornado that had went through my house while I was in the hospital! The place looked like 10 people lived there for 6 months without picking up a thing! So, this is where Allison gets to help mommy. "We're gonna play the "pick-up" game!" Allison would pick up an item from the floor and hand it to me and I would put it where it belonged! This lasted for about 5 minutes (or less)! My pappaw passed away when I was 8 months pregnant with Lindsey so mammaw was bored and lonely. Although she and I were never close, she volunteered to come stay with me and help me with the kids for a few days. It was wonderful being able to spend that time with her and to have someone to help. Allison couldn't wait for her to leave since she was a little more strict than I was and wouldn't let her get away with acting like the spoiled rotten brat that she was! Mammaw was a big help and I appreciated her coming to help me. It really meant alot! Nineteen days after Lindsey was born, I was due to be a bridesmaid in my friend Melissa's wedding. I got fitted for my dress while I was 7 months pregnant so I had to go out right away and make sure that sucker was gonna fit. I got it a couple sizes too big since I gained 38 lbs during my pregnancy. It fit pretty well and only had to be taken up in a couple places. We joke about this now; "who in the world risks being fitted for a bridesmaid dress while they're 7 months pregnant?" So, at age 21, I am at my friend's reception with my 2 year old and my infant. Of course, they was no alcohol on my menu!
